A Message from Our Nurse

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The COVID-19 pandemic has been hard on our community, and the nurses at Elko County School District are working diligently to keep our students and staff safe. Please help us out by checking your child (children) daily for the following symptom(s):

  • Fever/Chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath/Difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Congestion/Runny nose
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Headache
  • Sore throat

If your child has any of these symptoms, please keep them home and call our school

Your child can return to school when:

  • The child has been free from a fever (measured temperature of 100.0 F or greater) without the use of medications for at least 24 hours; and
  • symptoms have been improving for at least 24 hours; and
  • at least 10 days have passed since the individual first displayed symptoms of COVID-19;

  • it has been at least 24 hours since recovery; and
  • a health care provider has certified that the student does not have suspected or confirmed COVID-19.

Our top priority is to promote the health and safety of all of our students and staff. Thank you for helping us to protect all members of our community.

Please contact me if you have any questions.

Thank you!
